Leading the way to more personalized maternity care.

Having a baby is an amazing and life-changing experience. At the Valley Birthplace at AVH, we are honored to be a part of your joyous occasion. We believe in a family-centered approach during this personal experience. As expectant parents, you can count on our medical and nursing expertise to guide you through this exciting time in your lives. From childbirth education classes, labor, delivery, breastfeeding, and then going home, we will be there for you every step of the way.

Our board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Dr. Krzysztof Z. Plociennik, and staff of dedicated nurses are here to ensure that every new mother has a safe, comfortable, and highly personal experience.

This is why we offer private labor/delivery suites featuring large, private rooms with hardwood floors, cozy gliders, modern bathrooms with showers, soaking tubs and other comforts of home, like flat-screen TVs with DVD/CD players, and a refrigerator in your room. Our staff offers a soothing environment and personalized, high-quality care for healthy and safe childbirth. We keep your needs and desires our priority during your labor and birthing experience.

Additional support and services you can count on include:

  • Novii Wireless Bluetooth fetal monitoring to enable laboring moms to move around, as needed
  • Nitrous is available for pain management, as needed
  • Lactation support for the first 24-48 hours, plus pre-natal and post-natal lactation guidance from a certified lactation counselor
  • A delicious, congratulatory dinner and dessert prepared for the new parents by the AVH Head Chef

The Valley Birthplace at AVH is also proud to offer the TeamBirth model. TeamBirth is a nation-wide evidence-based care model designed to improve communication, safety, and shared decision-making surrounding birthing.

Bringing together patients, support people, and clinical teams including nurses and obstetricians, TeamBirth facilitates regular discussions of care plans before, during, and after delivery for both parents and infants. Ensuring birthing parents feel heard, are informed, and are actively involved in the decisions surrounding their birth experiences, helping reduce misunderstandings and improving labor and delivery outcomes, ensuring a more respectful, coordinated, and empowering birth experience.
