“Whimsy” Art Exhibit Currently on Display at AVH
Deidre Blair’s happy place art is currently on exhibit in the Androscoggin Valley Hospital Cafeteria. Her work has been in numerous North Country exhibits since 2011. Whimsical, bright, and mostly just happy, Deidre’s paintings of landscapes and critters offer a retreat from the ordinary and inspiration for the imagination. Her “Whimsy” exhibit will be up until Monday, September 23.
Deidre studied studio art at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. She paints primarily in oil with bold brushwork and liberal use of color. She takes great delight in the natural world, as evidenced in her subject matter. Deidre lives in Gorham where she paints, hikes, gardens, knits, and takes her inspiration from the beauty around her.
The public is encouraged to drop in for coffee and a snack in the Cafeteria while enjoying this whimsical show. There will be no artist’s reception, but anybody interested can quickly become absorbed in Deidre’s website, www.deidrenoreen.com. She may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every six weeks, the AVH Auxiliary Rotating Art Program features an artist and his/her work for display in the AVH Cafeteria. If you are, or know, an artist or craftsperson who would like to exhibit in the Program, please call Linda Morris, Volunteer Coordinator and AVH Auxiliary Liaison, at 326-5676. A proud partner of North Country Healthcare, AVH is on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest.
