20 Students Successfully Complete the AVH Babysitting Course
Twenty area students ages 11 and up successfully completed the AVH Babysitting Course held on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital.
Course Instructors Claudette Morneau, RN, BSN, and Wanda Tanguay, EMT, taught the students the qualities of a great babysitter; asking about and following the parent’s/guardian’s guidelines; safe home environment and child safety; ages and stages of children - infancy through school age; age appropriate play and supervision; caring for a child needing holding, diapering, dressing and feeding; and how to handle common injuries and emergencies. Teresa O’Hearn provided administrative assistance to the instructors during the day. Each student received an AVH Certificate of Program Completion.
Androscoggin Valley Hospital is proud to offer this educational opportunity to area students. Courses are held annually during February and April school vacations. Course fee is $20 or $25 with a pizza lunch.
