New MRI Unit at AVH
Androscoggin Valley Hospital (AVH) is pleased to announce the replacement of its current Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment with a new Philips Ingenia wide bore 1.5T unit. The new scanner has an increased weight capacity table and better interior lighting to ease the anxiety of those who may be somewhat claustrophobic. The arrival of the new unit provides a high quality, consistent level of comfort and enhanced image quality.
In addition to providing coverage at AVH, the MRI unit is scheduled to be available at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, and Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, both of which are member hospitals of North Country Healthcare as is Littleton Regional Healthcare which currently utilizes this model. The new Philips scanner will enhance the patient experience, increase image quality, improve reliability and provide standardization in equipment across all four NCH hospitals.
As indicated on the Philips website, the “digital clarity and speed help clinicians diagnose with confidence, explore new applications, and work productively.”
For more information about this quality improvement, please call Wayne Couture, Imaging Services and Cardiopulmonary Director, at (603) 326-5725. AVH is a proud member of North Country Healthcare and is on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest.
